Facilities

The International School of Lusaka (ISL) is centrally located on a spacious, green, centrally-located campus, close to the new commercial centre of Zambia’s capital, Lusaka and within a short drive of major residential areas. ISL caters for over 650 students who represent a wide range of nationalities, including students from Europe, the Americas, South and South-East Asia and, of course, the host country, Zambia.

ISL has an abundance of general classrooms, plus specialized rooms and labs for art, music, science and IT. Primary and Secondary Libraries give students access to books, periodicals, computers and other resources. Outside, over 25 acres (10 hectares) of sports fields and hard play areas, as well as two pools and a multi-purpose centre, provide ample space for play, sports and other activities.

The Early Years and Primary School classrooms are in their own buildings. The rooms are large and colourful with age-appropriate sized, ergonomically designed chairs and tables.

The Secondary School has large classrooms grouped around the campus in subject blocks for Maths, English, Science, Languages, Social Studies, Technology, Creative Arts and Learning Support.

Snacks and simple lunches are provided by the Tucshop, which is close to the main sports field and also supplies fruit drinks and water. There are a number of filtered, chilled water points around the school. Covered walkways provide shade from the sun and protection from the rain.
