IGCSE Coordinator

In Years 10 and 11, ISL offers a 2 year programme, the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).

The University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) is based in the United Kingdom and is the world’s largest provider of international qualifications for students aged between 5 and 18 years old in more than 130 countries. Programmes and qualifications are carefully designed to engage young learners and provide them solid foundations to achieve high levels of academic and personal attainment.

Our students undergo trial exams at the beginning of Term 3 and external final exams in May/June at the end of Year 11. Our IGCSE grades in August, 2015 were far above the world average, our students achieving an impressive 87.2% A* to C.

ISL offers much more than the opportunity to earn high academic grades. Students are also able to become involved in our community service programme, work experience week, camping trips, music and drama events and an endless list of different sport events. By the end of Year 11, the students are well prepared and equipped to move on to the International Baccalaureate (IBDP) programme in Year 12.

More information about our Year 10/11 programme can be found in the academic section of our website, at the IGCSE presentation evening (held in March), where you will be able to talk with the subject teachers, and via the CIE website (www.cie.org.uk). You may also contact the IGCSE Coordinator directly by email at the link to the right to discuss any queries or questions you may have.
