It’s hard to imagine that we are in our final week of the 2015/2016 school year already, and what a busy year we have had. All together we have taken part in 8 competitive sports with over 67 competitions resulting in 12 championships as teams and 15 individual champions.
Congratulations to all our teams and students for a great year in sports. Each team and individual athlete did ISL proud and displayed great sportsmanship as well as teamwork. A special thanks to all our coaches for your hard work and dedication in helping our students and improving sports at ISL.
The highlights of our sporting events this academic year in the inter-school competitions are Basketball (U12 Boys Champions, U14 Girls Champions, U14 Boys Runners-up, U16 Girls Runners-up, U16 Boys Champions, U19 Girls Regional and National Champions, U19 Boys Regional Runners-up and National Champions), Volleyball (U16 Girls Champions, U16 Boys Runners-up and U19 Boys Runners-up), Football (U14 Girls Champions, U14 Boys Champions, U19 Girls Runners-up and U19 Boys Champions), Netball (U19 Girls Regional Champions, National Runners-up), Hockey (U14 Girls Runners-up, U14 Boys Runners-up, U16 Girls Runners-up, U16 Boys Champions and U19 Girls Runners-up).
In Athletics- National Champions for 2015 were - U16 Girls 100m Suwilanji Mpondela, U19 Girls Long Jump and Triple Jump Yamfwa Chisanga. The Regional Champions for 2016 are- U14 Girls 400m Tukiya Lumba, U19 Girls 100m Suwilanji Mpondela, U19 Girls Long Jump & Triple Jump Yamfwa Chisanga and U19 Boys Long Jump & Triple Jump Kaseya Chifuka.
In Swimming-The Regional Champion are U7 Boys 25m Front Crawl Alessandro Seno, U8 Girls 25m Breaststroke Isabella Hedstrom, U8 Girls 25m Backstroke Kiana Hedstrom, U8 Boys 25m Breaststroke Ray Javaheri, U11 Girls 25m Breaststroke Jaida Javaheri, U14 Boys 25m Breaststroke Shidan Javaheri, U14 Boys 25m Butterfly Shidan Javaheri, U14 Boys 25m Front Crawl Shidan Javaheri and we also won the Senior Relay Champions.
