It feels great to see everyone back rested and refreshed in the New Year. We have had many new families join us and let me take this opportunity to welcome them to our school once again.
We have started our second semester with a whirlwind of engagements for our students!
JEFA (Junior Engineers for Africa) Education Program with “hands on learning” stormed their way into the hearts and minds of our students from Year 1- Year 6. Our students were challenged with sensory integration, engineering principles and various thinking skills. This has been an extraordinary experience for our students, and we are grateful to JEFA for providing us with this opportunity to engage with them.
Great Kindness Challenge- a week long challenge was launched this semester as part of our PSHE program and the students have responded really well to this novel venture too. There have been stations run by the Student Council to help support children in need through collections of toys, books and making cards. The students have also been encouraged to write poems during Kindness Week and demonstrate various acts of kindness.
The ISL Association Photo Contest with four categories, Community Life, Life on Campus, Inquiry and Cherish Every Moment, is underway. Capturing precious moments on camera and sharing them with the ISL community is yet another enterprise which has kicked off this month! We look forward to our monthly winners and their look forward to their pictures getting displayed. To find out how to enter, click here.
Celebrating talent at Primary Assemblies is always stimulating! Our enthusiastic crowd and eager participants prove to be a great combination. It was exhilarating and refreshing watching various artists perform with confidence and energy. There were so many new talents on display…. it was simply amazing!
Cheers to the 2017 and another chance to get it right!!
